1. Customizing your menu
The first time you login go to the session set up panel to customize your menu with your personal settings for location (poker room), structure (5-10 limit etc.), and game (holdem, stud etc). If you are going to start a new session and don’t have a choice for one of these menu options entered yet you must enter that option here before recording the session.
2. Registering a session
When you are waiting to enter a poker game or shortly after starting to play take notes for the session entries to be made when you can get online or use your smart phone to login to Poker Pro Bookkeeper. After login make your entries by going to "Enter New Session" and click on Register Session.
The current date and time (MDT – USA - Note that as long as you enter your session times the same way each time it doen't matter what time zone you are in it will record the total time you played) will be displayed and will automatically be entered as the beginning time for that session unless you change it manually. If you need to enter a different time or date just click the drop down menu and pick the time and date you need.
Click the drop down menu to get options for each of the following entries:
A. For location choose one of your pre set custom options.
B. For Online choose Online or Live.
C. For game choose one of your pre set custom options.
D. For Tournament choose Cash Game or Tournaments
E. For Structure choose one of your pre set custom options
F. For Buyin enter the amount you buyin for that session.
If you have to rebuy you will enter that when you update the session after cashing out
(explained below in number 3).
G. If you receive a casino comp start a separate session and leave every entry blank except
location.
H. Be sure to enter all the fields each session or your results may not be accurate.
Click Submit Session. You will get a “session entered successfully response” and you are done. If you get a failed response you will have to try again.
3. Register the end of a Session
Go to Enter New Session and click Update Session.
There will be a drop down menu with all sessions not yet updated listed with the most recent at the top.
A. Select the session you are ending from the drop down menu.
B. Enter amount of rebuys if any (also rebuys in rebuy tournaments).
C. Enter your cash out amount.
D. Enter any journal notes you may have. You may take as many notes as you want. The box
doesn’t limit the amount of notes you can take.
Click Submit Session and your session is completed.
Update the comp sessions also so they don't appear in the drop down for sessions that have not been updated. You can also make an entry in your Journal for the comp or leave everything blank and click update session.
Important
If you get behind on registering sessions you may enter sessions and update sessions anytime by selecting the correct date and time from the date and time drop down menus. This means that if you wish you can use session notes to add sessions for all of 2007 if you like. If you would like to go back further than 2007 please contact me at service@pokerprobookkeeper.com
4. Edit a Session
Opps you entered some information on a session incorrectly and now your stats are not coming out right. First go to the Results page and click on Daily Log it will show each entry and the info entered for them. Find the entry with the fautly information. Then go to Enter New Session and click on Edit Session. Pick out the session you want to edit from the drop down menu and click Edit Session. On the new page edit any of the information that you need to and click Finish Edit. Poker Pro Bookkeeper will then recalculate all your stats. Hint: If your playing time is off you may need to change the time, AM or PM or even the date.
5. Get Your Results
Click Get Your Results to view the income results of all months of the current year and going back as many years as you have been using Poker Pro Bookkeeper.
Each category shows the total of each month and year total for the current year. There is a year drop down menu in the top left corner that can be used to view past years once you have been using it for more than one year.
There are different categories that sort your income results by total income, live cash game, live tournament game, online cash game, online tournament game, live structure limit, live type of game, online structure limit, online type of game, live cash game location, live tournament location, online cash game location, online tournament location, casino comps location, a daily log of sessions and a session journal. Some of the related categories are printed on the same page. These pages can be viewed any time and are current with the last session entered in the system.
Each page can be print off without any graphics and in the same column form as they are viewed online. They can also be saved to your personal computer as an excel file.
6. Analyze Your Results
In time you may see a pattern of where you derive your best income, such as what poker room has the most profitable game or limit for you, weather cash games or tournaments are best for you in the long run, the live game or online game. It even shows you which casino gives you the best comps, but don't let this take you away from the best game! You may find that some games are of equal importance and that you should give time to both areas. Over time you may see reoccurring problems as well as strong points recorded in your journal.
